Portuguese airline TAP resumed the flights from Bucharest to Lisbon, starting from 7th of July. TAP estimates the number of passengers on this route will reach 70,000 persons until the end of this year. Almost 3,500 Romanians travel to Portugal every month. Their number will grow, as from Lisbon they will have connections with very attractive cities and regions in Portugal.

From Lisbon the tourists will have connections to 11 destinations in Spain (Asturias, Sevilla, Bilbao, La Coruna, Vigo), the most important destinations in Portugal (Porto, Faro, Funchal, Porto Santo, Ponta Delgada, Terceira) but also destinations in Marocco (Casablanca, Marrakech,Tanger).
TAP entered the Romanian market in 2012 and stopped the flights between Bucharest and Lisbon in January 2016. After that, the route was operated by low-cost companies Blue Air and Wizz Air.
TAP bought last yeat 53 new planes and also invested in the old fleet 81 million euros. In 2016, the airline transported 11,7 million passengers and had revenues of 2,2 billion euros. TAP is flying to 81 destinations in 34 countries.
