House of the future, developed by HUF HAUS in Germany Clear lines, generous glazing, open plan living concept and latest technologies are few of the attributes found within the newly launched HUF HAUS Show House in Mannheim, Germany. The house produces more energy than is required to operate and has been awarded the Platinum Badge granted by the German Society for Sustainable Building Council (Deutsche GesellschaftfürNachhaltigesBauen – DGNB). “We’ve always strived to perfect our designs and the technologies used in the construction of our houses as they are the pillars on which the HUF HAUS quality stands. Our newest show house in Mannheim focuses all these efforts and the result is an exquisite creation meant for the highest living standards. Starting with the heating technology and finishing with its unique features that makes it one of the greenest houses in Germany, the house will definitely enhance the life of its future owners,” says Georg Huf, Managing Director of HUF HAUS. The show house is the greenest timber-framed house in Germany and produces more energy than is required thanks to its unique Photovoltaic system, a structure that converts the sun’s radiation into usable electricity. Having fulfilled the strictest sustainability standards in terms of ecology, economy, socio-cultural and function aspects, technology, processes and location site, the house was awardedthe highest recognition by the DGNB Director, Johannes Kreißig. The house is a MODUM flat roof with 121.48 square meters of living area on the ground floor and 92.73 square meters on the first floor. The living room, dining, kitchen, plant room and a guest bedroom are located at the ground floor, while the top floor hosts the master bedroom with a dressing room and a master bathroom attached to it, together with an additional guest room and a shower room. The HUF House MODUM combines the best green attributes to a harmonious interaction between architecture and technology, aesthetic and design. The timber-framed house was developed as a research project together with heating technology specialist Vaillant and demonstrates the integration of efficient and environmentally friendly technology meant to offer the best quality of life tothe people who will be living in it.
