How to make profit from magnetic photos and photo booths Established in 2012, Momentos – the business with magnetic photos & photo booths – has become in five years of activity the number one player on the specific market, with an annual turnover that exceeded last year 300,000 EUR, with a team made up of 10 employees and 50 collaborators countrywide. “The idea came up when my sister got married and I saw this type of business in US and in Israel, while in Romania those services were lacking on the market. I’ve started with 20,000 EUR invested in equipment and a first team of collaborators. Now we have over 1,000 events annually and we can sustain 25 events simultaneously”, says Cristian Brînză, founder & CEO, Momentos. The company has initially entered the segment of private events – weddings, baptisms & anniversaries-, offering a distinct experience to clients. After that, Momentos has approached the corporate segment – launchings, fairs, festivals and trade shows- working with both PR & BTL agencies as well as with direct clients. Also, the company has launched photo-booth services, owning now 15 such booths. To become no. 1 and maintain this position on a very competitive market, Momentos has continuously reinvested in the most modern equipment, well-trained personnel and innovative services. The company has now a portfolio of over 7,000 private & corporate events, working for clients such as BCR, C&A, Desperados, Dove, OMV-Petrom, Salonul Auto-Moto, Telekom, Timișoreana or World Class. “The secret of our success consists along seriousness and punctuality, in a continuous urge to learn and innovate: be it the graphic design of the magnets’ frames, the newest accessories and props, as well as new services. A year ago we reinvented the photo booths, by transforming a 1970 Volkswagen Transporter in Momentos Photo Booth”, Cristian also said. Cristian best illustrates the concept of thoroughbred entrepreneur: a former volleyball performer (he played for CVM Tomis and Steaua), he launched his company when he was 24 years old, growing the business with a lot of hard work and perseverance. 65% from the company’s turnover comes from the corporate segment, while the rest is from private events. The biggest production of magnetic photos in the company’s history was for a complex corporate event, where Momentos succeeded to deliver 15,000 magnetic photos. Cristi has formed his team on the same criteria he has learned from sport, the employees of the company also being former volleyball performers. For 2017, Cristian estimates a turnover of 400,000 EUR, while the target for 2018 is 500,000 EUR.
