Happy Cinema București welcomes spring with two recent seasons of classical theatre, filmed on London stages and featuring British casts.
Twelfth Night opens the The Royal Shakespeare Company season at Happy Cinema and is scheduled for Saturday, the 3rd of March 2018, at 4 P.M.
Christopher Luscombe, an experienced director, returns to the Royal Shakespeare Company to tackle Shakespeare’s greatest comedy, a brilliantly bittersweet account of “the whirligig of time”. Twelfth Night is a tale of unrequited love – hilarious and heartbreaking. Two twins are separated in a shipwreck, and forced to fend for themselves in a strange land.
Happy Cinema will bring on the big screen other three Royal Shakespeare Company productions from the 2018 season: Romeo and Juliet, Macbeth and The Merry Wives of Windsor.
The Royal Shakespeare Company (RSC) is a major British theatre company, based in Stratford-upon-Avon, Warwickshire, England. The company employs over 1000 staff and produces around 20 shows every year.
A Woman of No Importance will be filmed at the Vaudeville Theatre in London’s West End and screened at Happy Cinema Bucharest on the 24th of February, starting from 5 o’clock.
Olivier award-winner Eve Best and BAFTA-nominated actress Anne Reid star in this new classically staged production of Oscar Wilde’s comedy directed by Dominic Dromgoole, former Artistic Director of Shakespeare’s Globe.
The play will be screened in its original version with added English subtitles.
Other three shows, part of the Oscar Wilde Season, will be screened at Happy Cinema Bucuresti: “Lady Windermere’s Fan”( 19th of May), “An Ideal Husband” (14th of July) și “The Importance of Being Earnest” (17th of November).
The price per ticket is 26 de lei and can be acquired from Happy Cinema Bucharest in Liberty Center or online from www.happycinema.ro.
