TIFF – Film Festival in Cluj – on until June 3 TIFF the first and the largest international feature film festival in Romania started a few days ago and will continue until June 3rd. The opening gala screened the film Foxtrot, a highly disputed, still brave story inspired by the Israeli–Palestinian conflict, a film that won the Grand Jury Prize Silver Lion of Venice International Film Festival and Ophir Award for Best Film. This year’s special guest is French artist, Fanny Ardant, and the festival features a dedicated section with two exceptional roles selected from among the over 100 played by her, alongside two films directed by Ardant herself. At the TIFF closing gala held on June 2nd, at the National Theater in Cluj, Fanny Ardant will recieve the Transilvania Lifetime Achievement Trophy. Over the years, Transilvania IFF’s Lifetime Achievement Award has been presented to important figures of European and worldwide cinema, including Sophia Loren, Nastassja Kinski, Jiří Menzel, Debra Winger, Claude Lelouch, Geraldine Chaplin, Wim Wenders, Marin Karmitz, Jacqueline Bisset, Michael York, Catherine Deneuve, Claudia Cardinale, Annie Girardot, Udo Kier, Vanessa Redgrave, Nicolas Roeg and Franco Nero.
