The jury evaluating the third volume of the “Wine Book of Romania” guidebook selected the top 10 of the 4.5 and 5-star wines to represent Romania and Moldova anywhere in the world.

The ten wines are: Avincis – Black of Dragasani 2015 (red); Bauer wine cellar – Petit Verdot 2016 (red); Rasova wine cellar – Rose 2017; Davino – Flamboyant 2014 (red); Tihani domains – Apogeum Fetească Neagră 2014 (red); Gitana Winery – Petite Sophie (White) 2015; Lacerta Winery – Cuvee X 2015 (white); Moşia Galicea Mare – Fetească Neagră 2016 (red); Petro Vaselo – Foam Bendis Rose; Serve – Terra Romana rose 2017.

The 10 wines will be tasted in the next two editions of RO-Wine / The International Wine Festival of Romania, scheduled to take place in Cluj (27-28 October 2018) and Bucharest (25-26 May 2019).

The preliminary selection, after which the wines of over 4 stars were chosen, was made by the author of the book, Marinela V. Ardelean. The approximately 100 testimonies then came to an international jury, which had the mission to confirm the quality level required to be included in The Wine Book of Romania and, in addition, to choose the best ten wines. The third edition of “The Wine Book of Romania” will be published by the Humanitas Publishing House this autumn.

The jury consisted of: Susanne Reineck-Bauer, oenologist and viticulture engineer, the person behind the most influential wine contest in Germany, Mundus Vini; Paul Robert Bloom – One of Europe’s most experienced wine tasters, over 40 years old sworn in international wine competitions; Helmuth Koecher – internationally recognized for his famous site WineHunter.it, the founder of the Merano Wine Festival and the European Gourmet Academy; Marinela V. Ardelean – president of the jury, wine critic and author, organizer of oenological events and sworn in international wine competitions.
