A Unique Travel Experience by Train through the Heart of Transylvania, the Journey Starts Again in Brașov, on August 22nd.
It’s the second year since Globe 365 and Free Spirit Travel tourist agencies launched the ”Transilvania Train” project: a journey with a tourist train that will give those interested in unconventional experiences and traditional flavours a chance to explore the most beautiful areas in Transylvania.
”This week we announced the end of sales for this edition, considering that the train is one week away from departure, on August 22nd. At the same time, we are already preparing the plan for 2019, when we aim for two editions – one in June, and the next for the end of August – beginning of September”, said Cristi Pitulice, co-founder of Transilvania Train.
2018 brings new elements to the touristic experience, inspired by last year’s experience. Train travel and cultural experience enthusiasts from Romania – but also from Germany, Austria and Poland – will have five days to explore the culture and history of Transylvania along 600 km of stories; the tourist package includes the visiting of more than 20 fortifications, 15 traditional craft workshops, a food workshop in Sebeș, two unique concerts at the Sebeș Evangelical Church and in Sibiu’s historical centre, two traditional parties – and much more.
”For this edition we planned two events open to the public, not just to Transilvania Train participants, so that anyone can have a glimpse at what this tourist experience really means. So, the organ concert at the Sebeș Evangelical Church, on August 25th, and the Sibiu Philharmonic Orchestra one in Sibiu’s Citadel street on August 26th will have free access for the public”, said Oana Pricop, co-founder of Transilvania Train.
The Transilvania Train project is organized in partnership with CFR Călători, and the train – which will constantly be at the group’s disposal – includes bar-bistro railcars, where there will be organized chef-supervised food tastings, as well as local wines and drinks tastings.
