Dunapack carton maker, part of the Austrian Prinzhorn group, is investing 45 million euros in a new corrugated cardboard factory in Bolintin-Deal, near Bucharest. The first packages in this new production facility should be ready in June 2019, according to company officials.

“The location of the new Dunapack Rambox plant, just 20 kilometers from Bucharest, will allow us to offer our customers in Romania the best quality of our products and services. In addition, due to the flexible configuration of the technical equipment, we can act quickly and efficiently against the new challenges in the industry,” says Alexander Enzenberg, general manager of Dunapack Packaging.

“At first there will be 150 employees, and by 2020 we want to reach 200. We have already recruited the management team. About 100 of the 150 people will work on the direct operating side of the plant. At the moment we managed to find only ten, as we started the selection in June. Finding people is the biggest problem we have at this time. Salaries will be in line with the market average,” says Cristian Ofiţeru, general manager of Dunapack Factory in Bolintin-Deal.

The new production unit will have 27,000 square meters and a production capacity of 180 million tonnes per year.

Dunapack also has a factory in Sfântu Gheorghe, Covasna. Together, the two Dunapack factories will deliver total production capacity to 300 million square meters of packaging per year.
At present, Dunapack Rambox has a portfolio of over 500 customers covering all major industrial sectors.
