Total, a French manufacturer and supplier of energy, organizes this year’s second Startupper of the Year competition in nearly 60 countries around the world, including Romania.
The 2018-2019 edition of the “Startupper of the Year supported by Total” competition aims to support and reward young entrepreneurs who have a project or business set up less than two years ago and who work in any industry.
In each participating country, a local jury will nominate three winners. The assessment will be based on criteria such as: innovative character, social and community impacts and feasibility and development potential.
Winners will receive the title of “Total Startup of the Year”, prizes totaling € 25,000 (prize I – € 12,500, 2nd prize – € 7,500, 3rd prize – € 5,000), a mentoring program and professional coaching, as well as promotion.
An international jury will then meet to select six great winners among all winners of the first prize in each country where the Group organizes the Startupper of the Year competition.
Total Romania was set up in 2005 as an economic partnership between Total (France) and Lustic (Romania).
Currently, the company is headquartered in Bucharest and owns a plant at Cristian, Brasov, a bitumen store in Ozun, Covasna, and covers fields of activity such as: lubricants and greases production, distribution and sale of special lubricants and fluids, storage, distribution and sale of bitumen.
