Discovery Romania announces that, starting in November 2018, Discovery Media will manage its local advertising sales also for Eurosport 2.

In the month of November 2018, Eurosport 2 had an average audience of 8,000 viewers per minute (all day) nationwide, according to Kantar Media’s measurements. In urban, the average was 5,000 viewers per minute (all day).
Thus, Eurosport 2 adds to the Discovery Media Portfolio in Romania, currently managing Discovery Channel, Eurosport 1, TLC, Animal Planet, National Geographic, Nat Geo Wild and Bollywood TV.
For Discovery Media, this represents an increase in the market share of 5%, together with an increase in the local portfolio, which will include eight open local TV channels.
With a mainly male target, Eurosport 2 also addresses the female audience through more competitions such as tennis, athletics, and winter sports. Among the most watched competitions at Eurosport 2 are: World Snooker, Cycling and Motor Sports, North American Football League – MLS.
Among the top Eurosport 2 audiences in 2018, the final quarterfinals of the Roland Garros tournament between Simona Halep and Angelique Kerber are one of the best examples. The Eurosport 2 Duel had a market share of 7.7% (male, urban, 18-49 year old), reaching a 1% rating. Also, the match between Roger Federer and Hungarian Márton Fucsovics in Tournament 4 at Australian Open recorded a market share of 8.2% and a rating of 1%.
On January 22, 2018, a Eurosport 2: 2% rating and a 18.4% market share were recorded during the match played by Simona Halep against Naomi Osaka at the first Australian Grand Slam tournament Open.
