Starting January 7, 2019, Decathlon raises the bar in his mission of making sport accessible to as many people as possible, launching the National Sports Experience project. For this, the French retailer provides its customers with a new online platform and a new loyalty system.
Decathlon wants to motivate and help people to practice their favorite sport, but also to discover new ones, thus developing a healthy lifestyle. At the same time, accessibility means for Decathlon the best price-quality ratio and low prices throughout the year.
Moreover, the company makes the move from classical loyalty, to a loyalty tailored to today’s needs, by providing real-world experiences.
“We truly believe in our mission, to make sport accessible to as many people as possible. Accessibility means being where it is needed, when needed, by providing the customer with everything he needs. According to the Eurobarometer on Sport and Physical Activity, we now know that 37% of the Romanian population is practicing sports. We want to get this figure at 60% over the next 5 years, facilitating this relationship: user – equipment – place of practice, “said Lăcrămioara Roşca – Marketing Manager of Decathlon Romania.
Thus, the new fidelity program continues to turn each transaction into loyalty points. These loyalty points are valid for 12 months from the time of the last transaction in the Decathlon account.
In the new platform, users can opt for different sports partners in different cities across the country and for different sports typologies, starting January 7, depending on the number of points in their account.
The payment methods are 2 ways: full payment through the loyalty point or partial payment system through the same point system and the cash or card difference within the chosen location.
Individuals eligible to receive a card may be in possession of the card if they are over 18 years of age and require the card to be issued either in a Decathlon store or online on the decathlon.ro website in the “My Account” section.
