The young Romanian artists exhibit in the InterContinental Bucharest InterContinental Bucharest and Basil Gallery are going to launch on December 12, a series of art exhibitions made by young artists, in the newly launched Intermezzo Lobby Lounge. The first exhibition, called “People and Places”, is showing portraints signed by Sabina Bratu. Sabina is an young artist whose talent was developed by Basil Gallery since she was 7 when she started to follow art lessons, organized by the gallery. ‘I draw, dye and paint since I know myself… I have started to work with the emotion of every new beginning, (…) asking myself if my portrait is going to look like the model, giving … life to the painting.(…)’ says Sabina Bratu. The characters that Sabina paints are real people, from all around the world, with different fellings, different stories, giving life to the paint and, the viewer, the opportunity to imagine the world of the character. ‘I chose characters which impressed me through the vibe they were sending, people who seemingly tell their life story, people who let you see in their eyes the kindness, the gentleness, the happiness, but also the toughness, the sadness, the determination, or the resignation… I chose good and beautiful people, who seem to want to reminisce with us, tell us about the places they live in, about their customs, about their joys and disappointments, about their wish and their inability, about their innocence and about their wisdom’ says the artist about the paintings in the exhibition. ‘We have established the partnership with Basil Gallery in order to offer a permanent stage to the young Romanian artists and to our hotel guests providing magical moments and the opportunity to be exposed to Romanian art and the artists. This first Lobby Art Exhibition takes place in the newly opened Intermezzo Lobby Lounge, which we hope, will become THE meeting place in Bucharest. Enjoy worldclass coffee and other drinks by the best, inspirational art, created by young, talented, Romanian artists.’ stated Lior Bebera, General Manager of the InterContinental Bucharest. ‘The motto of Basil Gallery is <be what you want to become> and we consider this series of exhibitions the moment of <launching> Sabina and other young talents that we grew up with the pasion for beautiful things’ said Luminita Vasile, the coordinator of Basil Gallery. The art lovers can admire and buy Sabina Bratu’s paintings from 12th to 22nd.
