We offer digital nomads requiring high speed internet and a slower pace of life the chance to live and work through the winter lockdown in their house  in Copșa Mare, a tiny farming village in southern Transylvania.

Copșa Mare is set in the middle of tens of thousands of hectares of oak and beech forest, interspersed with traditional farm grasslands exceptionally rich in flora & fauna. The winter weather here is dry, sunny and cold. There is wonderful walking and rough cross-country skiing.

The accommodation is ideal for two. Upstairs there is a bedroom with brand new, high quality mattresses, feather pillows & duvets, cotton bed linen and woollen blankets; a small bathroom for brushing teeth and late night pennies; a large, light landing with a desk and sofa; and an office equipped with a large desk, high speed internet and five bar mobile phone coverage.

Downstairs, there is  a hall with a fridge, an electric kettle and hob, and crockery & cutlery for two, suitable for breakfast and light meals. There is a second bathroom with a walk-in shower, a lavatory, a basin and under floor & wall heating. The house is warm, with gas central heating throughout.

The price is EUR1100 for a couple for 14 nights (EUR750 for single use). The offer assumes a stay of a minimum of two weeks between mid-January 2021 and mid-April 2021, half payable in advance. For each additional 7 nights, the price would be EUR400. The price includes hot water, heating, one mid-stay house clean & change of sheets & towels. The price does not include meals. Lunch and supper can be taken with your hosts and with Simona at Copșa Mare 122.

If you are travelling from outside Romania, a negative COVID-19 test result is required. You may fly to Sibiu, Cluj-Napoca or Tirgu Mures. Best to hire your own car at the airport, or we may send a car to collect you (Sibiu & Tirgu Mures EUR65, Cluj-Napoca EUR110).

Here is a link to a short film showing the landscape above the village in mid-October.
