Celebrities gathered at the reopening of Corso Summer Terrace by Veuve Clicquot at InterContinental (Demo)

Ilie Nastase, Dana Savuica, Tandarica, Adina Buzatu, Andreea Berecleanu, Monica Iagar, Rona Hartner and Lior Bebera, the director of InterContinental Hotel, representatives Moet Hennessy in Romania, and nearly 100 guests attended the re-opening of Corso Summer Terrace by Veuve Clicquot, the first open terrace in Romania of the famous champagne brand.

The guests enjoyed Veuve Clicquot champagne assortments such as Veuve Clicquot Rich summer champagne with ice and fruit, vegetables or black tea. These are found in the terrace menu, along with exotic fruits and snacks. The terrace has 25 seats at tables and restful gondolas and is open every evening from 18.00 to the last customer. So if you want to go out in the evening in a chic place in the city center or if you organize a private party, you can choose Corso Summer Terrace by Veuve Clicquot de  InterContinental Bucuresti.


Short history of Veuve Clicquot 

1772 – Clicquot House is founded by Philippe Clicquot, a family of bankers and traders, but also a living owner. His ambition was to cross the frontiers of France, thus becoming the first champion of champagne in Venice

1801 – the first Clicquot champagne is produced

1805 – Madame Clicquot – Barbe Clicquot Ponsardin – becomes the first business woman of modern times, 27, after her husband, the founder’s son, dies

1814 – breaks the continental blockade and transported 10,550 champagne bottles to Russia, Petersburg; has a fulminating success, the champagne being praised by Puskin, Gogol and Chekhov.

1816 – Madame Clicquot invented the so-called “riddling table” a table with holes in which the champagne bottles were placed with the neck down so that the sediments could be collected in order to clear them. This process was later taken over by other manufacturers.

1818 – The first rose rose, the so-called “rose d’assamblage” – Madame Clicquot coupled her champagne with Bouzy red wines, thus obtaining the first champagne rose.

1872 – The Business Woman Award

1986 – Louis Vuitton takes over Veuve Clicquot, and the LVMH (Moët-Hennessy – Louis Vuitton) is founded the following year: 200 years since the founding of the Clicquot House.
