According to foodpanda.ro, the largest food ordering platform in Romania, the mobile application generates over 65% of online food orders nationwide for the most active age range on the platform, ranging from 25 to 35 years old (part of generation of millennials).

Most millennial national orders are recorded on Thursdays, Fridays and Saturdays, from 11:00 to 14:00, for lunch, respectively 18:00 – 20:00, for dinner, intervals – increased with the recent introduction of the pre-order option on the platform.

“The most active customers on the foodpand platform are those of the millennium generation who prefer to order directly from the app. The most important thing that makes them order online is primarily the diversity of listed restaurants, but also the variety of prices and cuisine, from fine dinning to fast food. Regarding the expectations they have from the suppliers, the millenarians want their food to be delivered in as short a time as about 30 minutes or not to exceed the delivery time specified on the site, “says Radu Bălăceanu, Country Foodpanda Manager Romania.

According to the foodpanda data, the people of Bucharest are the ones who make the biggest food orders, with an average value of about 59 lei, followed by the Brasovians, with 52 lei, Cluj, which give 48 lei for the food ordered online, and Iasi, with an average deposit of about 46 lei. For Timisoara the average order value is 43 lei. Also, over 25% of the total number of national orders is paid with the card.

The top three international dishes by the millennials are pizza, burgers and pasta, and in traditional food, pork neck with fried potatoes, cow’s soup and little ones are among their favorite dishes.
