Ryanair’s Laudamotion airline started daily flights on one of the most popular routes in Romania and competes with Tarom and Austrian Airlines.
Laudamotion flights between Vienna and Bucharest started on October 28 and the company offered 10 euro / segment tariffs.
“The new Laudamotion route between Bucharest and Vienna will link two capitals. The new connection supports the economy, while offering the opportunity to visit Vienna at reasonable prices. We offer our passengers a customer-oriented concept of unbeatable price-quality and we are very happy to offer them from now on also in Romania,”says Andreas Gruber, General Manager of the company.
Bucharest-Vienna route is in the top 10 most popular destinations in the first semester of this year, according to data from the National Institute of Statistics (INS), with 118,112 passengers on board. Tarom and Austrian Airlines offer several daily flights on this route.
If last year Ryanair said Vienna airport was too expensive, this year the air giant secured a seat on one of the most important airports in Europe. The low-cost giant bought Laudamotion, a company founded by former Formula 1 pilot Niki Lauda, after Air Berlin bankruptcy and Fly Niki’s closure.
