There’s still time to go see some of the best of Romanian design on Calea Victoriei, at the main exhibition of Romanian Design Week until Sunday May 27.
From graphic design projects to architecture and product design, to fashion and video production, the main show welcomes you in a soft, red exhibition space with bright criss-crossing beams of light in what used to be the tallest building in town‒Palatul Telefoanelor‒ until the 70s and the first building in the country to have a metal structure (1934).
RDW Awards by glo was held May 24 and the awarded designs can still be seen for three days.
Graphic design was awarded the most‒4 trophies, the architecture awards went to ADNBA and Filofi și Trandafir Arhitectura and one of the three awards for product design went to DADA Studio by Dan Andreșan for the project of a Romanian kayak that stands out with its elegant design.

There were also two awards for their outstanding social impact: Someș Delivery‒an event and model of civic architecture and community involvement and The Romanian Constitution a project initiated by FunkyCitizens for middle school kids and graphically arranged by Grapho Mat, an initiative that is a pleasant surprise because of the simple, clear idea and the maturity of the execution.

Show Off #RDW2018 at Apollo 111 will also be open with the Diploma Selected and Ubikubi Young Design Awards (UYDA) exhibitions until the end of the weekend.
